Description

Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus Aircraft Ltd, based in Stans, operates a large factory complex at the nearby Buochs airfield. Not only does it provide services such as maintenance and test flights, it also maintains impressive hangars and workshops that are specially designed for the production and maintenance of aircraft.

The location already has a cinematic past:

in 1964, the Pilatus Aircraft factory and its surroundings were used as the location for several scenes in the third James Bond film, Goldfinger. In the film, the Pilatus Aircraft factory represents Goldfinger's (Gert Fröbe) front company, Auric Enterprises, where the protagonist had the individual parts of his gold, disguised as a Rolls-Royce, melted down into gold bars. The front view and front building of Pilatus Aircraft have changed since 1964, but the rest of the building is still largely identical to the scenes in the film. Wikipedia

Pilatus Aircraft also plays a role in the 2006 film Vitus by Fredi M. Murer. Vitus' enthusiasm for flying rubs off on his grandfather, who subsequently visits the company and buys a PC-6, on which Vitus celebrates his breakout into “his” life at the end of the story.
