Fascinating relic of the Cold War
Description
The Sonnenberg civil defense facility is one of the largest underground shelters in the world and an impressive symbol of its time. It was built in the 1970s to accommodate 20,000 people. Between 2006 and 2008, the facility was renovated and converted, and today it still offers 2,000 shelter places. The atmosphere, with its endless corridors and tunnels, technical facilities, training rooms, local command posts, telephone center, emergency hospital, elevator, and kitchen, is very authentic and has great cinematic potential.
