This summer, the Film Commission had the privilege of supporting three exciting documentary film projects, all of which are connected to the renowned Lucerne Festival. 🎼
Part 1/3
The documentary film project “Die Macht des Rings” (The Power of the Ring) by Accentus Music Leipzig, in co-production with WDR, ARTE, and SRF, is dedicated to the creation, impact, and reception of Richard Wagner's “Ring des Nibelungen” (The Ring of the Nibelung), on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of its premiere.
Of course, filming also took place at the Richard Wagner Museum in Lucerne – with Wagner's great-granddaughter Dagny Beidler and musicologist Eva Rieger, among others.
Part 2/3
When the presidential suite becomes a television studio🎬:
Filming for the BBC Studios documentary series ARTS IN MOTION with Cecilia Bartoli took place in the immediate vicinity of our office – at the Mandarin Oriental Palace. With the Lucerne-based company ORISONO GmbH as line producer, quality from Lucerne was guaranteed.
Part 3/3
The Film Commission Lucerne & Central Switzerland provided early advice and support to the producers of Bettina Ehrhardt and Graziella Contratto's documentary film project about musician and Lucerne Festival director Michael Haefliger. Production support also included arranging camera, sound, and editing specialists from Central Switzerland.
Here, filming at the KKL Luzern - Culture and Congress Center: Michael Haefliger in conversation with Riccardo Chailly, chief conductor of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and music director at La Scala in Milan.
