It’s official: At the general meeting of our governing body on May 4, Erich Felber, Nicole Reisinger, and Michael Rüedi were elected to the co-presidency. The three had previously served on the executive committee and will continue to work in their respective areas of focus: strategy (Erich), organizational development (Nicole), and financing (Michael). You can view all other board members here.
Film Commissioner Lili Kaelin is also resuming her role as Executive Director, a position she held from the association’s founding in late 2016 through September 2022. She will be supported in the areas of back office operations and marketing/communications.
We look forward to continuing our work together in this new configuration and dedicating our full energy to supporting the Central Switzerland film region.

The new Prime Video series «Superior» is a mix of romance, elite boarding school life, and mystery thriller aimed at a young audience—it tells the story of a fictional, exclusive hotel management school in the Swiss mountains. Filming will take place from mid-July to mid-August in Lucerne and the Lake Lucerne region, directed by Franziska Margarete Hoenisch.
The cast of “Superior” was just unveiled at the Munich Film Festival, right on time for the start of filming: Manal Raga a Sabit, Jule Hermann, Jonathan Kriener, Zoe Fürman, Kjell Brutscheidt, and Lukas von Horbatschewsky (pictured from left to right) play the students at the exclusive Swiss Hotel Academy Walding (SHAW for short), the best hotel management school in the world!
With head writer Adrian Spring from Lucerne and the Lucerne-based production company Zodiac Pictures, the series not only showcases local talent but also puts our region on the global stage. Amazon Prime Video has over 200 million members worldwide—an impressive showcase for Central Switzerland as a film location. Find out more here.

Comedians Manu Burkart and Jonny Fischer of the cabaret duo Divertimento are shooting their first feature film with Condor Films, directed by Markus Welter. In addition to various indoor locations, the film features alleys and streets in Zug’s Old Town and downtown area.
To ensure that filming proceeds smoothly and with as little disruption as possible, careful preparation is required, involving all relevant individuals and agencies—scouting the filming locations with production managers and the responsible city and municipal authorities is a key part of this process.
Pictured: Alex Biondi, production manager at Condor Films, in conversation with Marco Bischof, security project manager for the City of Zug, during the site inspection in early June.
Many thanks to all those responsible at the City of Zug for their excellent cooperation!
More information about the film is available at Condor Films and at SRF.

Hüünä. Hönnä. Rüüdig. Mega. Umär. – That’s the motto of Adrian “Floyk” Flückiger and Cynthia Kaufmann, the two minds behind the Altdorf-based independent studio. Since 2008, the two have been creating animated films, graphic design, illustration, and digital art—ranging from independent projects to commissioned films, from Vitra advertisements to theater sequences.
Adrian Flückiger, a native of Uri and holder of a Master of Arts degree from HSLU, is one of Central Switzerland’s most prominent animators: His short films have won awards at the Solothurn Film Festival, and in 2010 he received the Canton of Uri’s Culture Prize. As a guest lecturer at HSLU, he shares his expertise in stop-motion and puppet animation—and leads animation workshops for anyone who wants to try their hand at it.
Find out more at studio-umaer.ch—and if you’re wondering what “Umär” means, you’re sure to find the answer on your next visit to the Uri region!

Discover
From alpine to urban—and everything in between: Central Switzerland offers a wide variety of landscapes within a small area, as well as unique locations. Today we’re introducing you to a brand-new location:
Titlis Tower, Engelberg OW
|
|
|
|
|
|
Image: TITLIS Bergbahnen
Barely open, the structure is already considered one of the Alps’ new landmarks: The Titlis Tower was created by repurposing a former broadcast tower; it was redesigned by the internationally renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron at 3,020 meters above sea level and made accessible to tourists. At its heart is the “Horizon Deck,” offering panoramic views of the Alps, glaciers, and the Swiss Plateau—below which are a fine-dining restaurant and the world’s highest Rolex boutique.
Central Switzerland now boasts yet another extraordinary film set of the highest caliber—both literally and figuratively.
You can find more information and photos in the location directory on our website.

And one more thing:
Congratulations, dear Chris Franzen!

Our board member Chris Franzen, Managing Director of the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, was named “Hotelier of the Year” at the Falstaff Hotel Awards 2026.
With last week’s Peace Summit, he and his resort then made headlines on an entirely different level: In less than 48 hours, his team prepared the resort for the historic meeting—a logistical masterpiece that demonstrates what our region is capable of achieving even under the greatest time pressure.
We congratulate Chris Franzen and his team on this impressive showcase of Central Switzerland on the world stage!
