The new landmark of the Alps, at 3,020 meters above sea level

Location

6390 Engelberg

Description

Built in the 1980s, the transmission tower had previously been used exclusively for broadcasting. Following its renovation by the internationally renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, it has now been opened to tourists for the first time and has become a new landmark in the Alps. Building upon the existing structure, two new volumes were inserted, making commercial use possible for the first time. At its heart is the “Horizon Deck,” offering panoramic views of the Alps, glaciers, and the Swiss Plateau—below which are a fine-dining restaurant and the world’s highest Rolex boutique. Surrounding the tower, filmmakers will find a whole range of other impressive filming locations: the rotating Rotair gondola, the Cliff Walk—Europe’s highest suspension bridge—the Ice Flyer over the eternal ice, and the Glacier Park. A location of the highest caliber—both literally and figuratively.

The Titlis Tower is the first phase of the “TITLIS” project. Work is already underway on the second phase: a new Peak Station that will blend just as seamlessly into the mountain landscape and be truly one of a kind.
